Great Game!

This game is very fun and the scenarios like American Revolution make it better. It didnt crash on my MacBook Air.

I love CIV!

Amazing game! I would have given it 5/5 but on my 15" MBP the full screen does not work, I can only play it in a window. :( other than that runs perfectly

Does not work

Once downloaded it comes up as damaged and cannot be opened.

Why?

Its great but I cant figure out how to delete saved games. I finish them and then they dont go away so I just have files and files of games that are finished. Anyone know what I can do?

Fun Game

Never played Civilization before. This one works well and is a good turn based game. Havent had any issues with the program working on my MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion.

Addicting and so much fun!

First I will say this game runs perfectly on my 11" MacAir (2012 model), and I have the "slower" processor. It has zero lag, no freezes, and just runs flawless. With that said, the game itself is awesome. I have been a Civ fan since Civ 3 and love it. It is truly the most addicting game you will ever play. Sometimes it makes me scared being a college student because I have to devote so much time to studying and this game distracts me! But thats what the two weeks between semesters are for. The advanced gameplay and wide rage of difficulty levels makes it playable for all skill levels. So no matter your skill level or experience with Civilzation games, this game is for you. Worth absolutely every penny!

crashes after a while into the game

i was a big fan of the original civilization. this game is very nice, bringing the old version into the modern day with better graphics and a more complex scheme. however, a big flaw is that ive never been able to finish the game. i can get fairly far into it, but at a certain point it just crashes. this is on a mac os x 10.6.8. my guess is that its leaking variables somewhere. so it keeps me entertained for several hours, but i never have the satisfaction of finishing the game.

Come on!!!

$20 bucks and it doesnt even work what a bunch of crap.

Excellent

Though Civ III is probably the best, Civ VI is a great update. There were some issues with Civ V downloads I heard but this was a safe one. Works and runs great on my new MacBook Pro. Civ VI is great. I would highly recommend it. Plenty of hours to play and lots of different ways to play. Great buy for the price. Note to Aspyr: I would like to see the old Star Wars Episode I: Racer on the Mac store from you guys. It would be a great sell to N64 and Star Wars enthusiasts. I really want to see this soon and would buy it immediately. The other Aspyr games are great but I really want to see this. Civ VI is great. Buy it. I want to see Racer asap. Aspyr is great.

Expansion Pack?

Will the Civ 4 Beyond the sword expansion pack work for this version?

Works great

No problems running on macbook pro!

Great

It works flawlessly on my desktop mac. The game is fun, the graphics are good, there are no glitches or bugs. Overall a very good game that is well worth the price.

Any expansions?

Ive owned this game for a while but still havent seen any expansions. I see there are expansions added for Civ 5. What about this version? And how about adding Civ 3 for purchase?

Love the game but….

I’ve loved playing this game on my mac since i downloaded it almost a year ago but upon starting it up after updating to OS X 10.9 when I start the game in full screen, the screen gets blurry and all the colors are messed up. Frankly, it looks like Sid Meiers took a bad trip on acid. Is anyone else having this problem? Please help if you can.

Awesome Game

I love this game, its a great strategy game, with realistic diplomatic/militaristic interactions in it. My only complaint is that Add-Ons dont work with the App Store version. I really want to download Beyond the Sword, but it wont work. Otherwise I really like it!

Far Inferior to The Sequel

Unlike most of you, I came into Civilization playing V first, only regressing to IV because it had Internet multiplayer (unlike its sequel, for whatever reason) and because everyone talked about IV like it was Heaven-sent. In short, it’s not, especially the combat, sense of control, and overall stragetic aspect, which are all horribly lacking. Unless you have some nostaliga for the series, stay as far away from this entry as possible.

useless

the game it self is pretty slow but is kind of fun but it crashes like every other minute it is ridiculous

Amazing and Addictive

I LOVE THIS GAME. I can’t stop playing it, it is so addictive.

Not great for $20

Low quality graphics and not cheap for the content, unhappy.

Disappointing

I grew up on Civ and even enjoyed Civ II. Civ III was frustrating due to the fact that it was nearly unwinnable even on the easiest levels. Civ IV seems to be more balanced on the difficulty scale, but it does feature some new annoyances that make the game less than enjoyable. First, the game trivializes religion, something which Civ I-III had steered clear of doing. Regardless of your belief (or lack thereof) the in-your-face trivialization isnt fun. Second, the usability is shot to heck. Its not worth the time to list all the nits, but suffice to say that you dont feel that sense of controlling everything easily anymore; the game relies much more on the mouse and not as much on the keyboard. Third, the world perspective is full of unnecessary glitz. As a result, its harder to see everything at a glance. Last, the unnecessary politicking that the game gets into -- see who is listed as the worst world leader in history -- and its not Neville Chamberlain or the Roman emporer Commodus. Its still fun building things, but this version feels a little too artificial and not so much sober with a twist of fun, like Civ I and II were.
