Beautiful game, a bit old but still lots of fun… and hey, Leonard Nimoy reads famous quotes related to your technological advances :) … Definitely worth checking out… and playing for hours on end. I run this game on an MBP 13" Early 2011 (Intel HD 3000) and its smooth and all… It would be awesome if Aspyr would make Warlords and Beyond the Sword available as In-App-Purchases. Also somewhat related: Does anybody have the same macbook as I and runs CIV 5 (I mean, in a way that it is playable)?

multiplayer is offline - u cant play this game online any longer.

Excellent Game. got a 2011 macbook pro 13" 2.3 gHz, works great, game not slow or choppy or anything. Works great, addicting and fun. Worth every penny.

I am on a late 2009 macbook pro 13" /w 8gb ram, nvidia geforce 9400m 256mb (on board), 2,26 GHz intel core 2 duo, 128gb sandforce ssd. It runs percectly with no lag.

Its a wonderful and addictive game, worth every penny. I only wish the DLC was available either installed already or at least available to purchase in game. Overall Id give it a 10/10 because it is really perfect.

I have installed this wonderful game on a MacBook Air first generation cadenced at 1.6 Ghz. It runs flawlessly even if the system requirements states that one needs a machine running at least at 1.8 Ghz.

This is a turn based game, and its very slow. If thats your thing, this is a great game for you.

If i wanted to play a board game style game, i would have bought a board game.

This application never really crashed on me on Mountain Lion. It didnt startup once, but a simple reboot fixed the problem. As for gameplay, it is quite nice with a lot of excitment. This game is turn based…so if you do not enjoy that type be warned. There is a lot of strategy taking place in this game, which I enjoy. Lots of options and it is realisitic. There was NO TUTORIAL - so I had to play around to get a sense of the game. The graphics are quite poor, especially for this time period. It is not Retina optimized, for I put it on 2880x1800 and it is too large. It runs fine on my Retina MacBook Pro 15 2.3GHZ 8GB of RAM Nvidia GT 650M. I wish it had better graphics…and a better saving engine. Thats all :)

This game is horrible , especially for Mac. Crashes all the time and when it doesnt crash it is extremely complicated and horrible , Id look somewhere else if you want to find a good game

This game is very good and addicting but there are a few things about it that can be annoying while playing for example every time i try to attack an enemy when Im in first era it never works and when it does the battle lasts for ever this game is good but i would recommend starcraft 2 or civ v

as the title says it doesnt fit on my screen in full screen mode. so bugfix is probably in order. and i hate playing in window. in running a macbook pro 15” with retina display

The only complaint is that it does not support Japanese. We hope the Japanese release and the release of expansion pack.

I’ve been playing Civilization since the 90’s and never had issues on a PC. Have switched to a Mac a couple years ago and this game has never played right. In Yosemite it started to get buggy-stopped allowing me to pick the level (settler, warlord, etc) on the other civs. In both Yosemite and El Capitan it still plays, but selecting the level of the other civs still does not work and in a quick play just for domination I can be blowing the other civ out of the water and it always shows a very low score for me. This is progressively getting worse and I expect it to stop working any day. talked to Aspyr and they were zippo help and couldn’t figure it out. Sad to say my many years of enjoying this game are probably coming to an end.

This is the " Vanillia " version of Civ IV for the Mac OS . There are no updates for this software in the App Store . It still has a few bugs , crashes and freezes up on larger maps . Mulitiplayer on Gamespy is lacking in satisfaction as it remains a pain just to connect to other players via the internet . All in all four stars & worth owning ...

This game is great! I bought it 2 days ago and cannot stop playing it! In the very beginning I had a hard time understanding what every little control ment, but after a couple of hours of playing I had it down. LEt me just say this I NEVER spend more than 99 cents on an app and it took a lot of thought for me to make the huge leap of spending $20 on a game, but if you look at it as a whole seprate PC game its actually a fairly resonable deal you just dont have to deal with going to the store and buying it. So all in all Im very happy with ths game and I have had no problems what-so-ever, I am playing on a 2011 macbook pro 13.

Everytime I try to open the game, an error message appears saying: "The game is damaged. Delete the game and re-install it from the app store." Has anyone else had this issue? I am running 10.7.4. It says it says it works with 10.6.6 and later which is oviously BS. This is very frustrating iTunes!

I just downloaded this game on my brand new 15" Macbook Pro. It seems to work find when I have the game in a smaller window, but when I try to play it on full screen the graphics are faulty. The screen flashes and everything is blue and green. Has anyone else encountered this issue?
